Crew Senior Banquet.
I was named MVP to my surprise. Everyone was crying through the slideshow and awards. I held out until I got into my car and opened the senior gifts of a crew blanket and picture frame. That, plus a comment from my favorite coach brought on the tears. He pulled me aside and explained that though every talk we’d had before, he had complemented me on how similar I was to him as a determined and intense high school rower. But, tonight he said that that wasn’t true. Really, he thought I had all the qualities that he wished that he possessed as a rower.
I lost it.
This team is a family, and it truely hurts to leave.
